Varoujan Chetirian (1996) is a Swiss-Armenian musician and sound artist, currently based in Berlin. After years of practice in drumming and contemporary composition, as well as a BA in international relations at the University of Geneva, he decided to focus on sound art. In addition to his work as a musician and producer of electronic music, he develops unconventional ways of apprehending sound: installations, collages, sonic fictions, radio-oriented works and graphical score compositions. His research is nourished by multiple interdisciplinary collaborations, located in Berlin, Geneva, Erevan and beyond. He has been interested by the spatiality of sound related with obsolete technologies, as well as the socio-historical connotation and framing of sonic events. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sound Studies and Sonic Art at the Universität der Künste in Berlin (UdK).
